The School of Graduate Studies in the Health Sciences at the University of Mississippi Medical Center offers graduate education leading to the doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) and/or master of science (M.S.) degrees in the basic biomedical sciences (anatomy, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, pharmacology and toxicology, physiology and biophysics), in the clinical health sciences, in maternal/fetal medicine (M.S. only), and in nursing. These broad-based and contemporary educational programs prepare students for a wide range of career opportunities in research, education, industry, governmental service (state and/or federal) and, if desired, for other educational experiences, advanced training, or practice.
